For many people, a vacation to a state park is not complete without camping. For those visitors to Tennessee’s largest state park, Fall Creek Falls State Park, camp sites are plentiful. With over two hundred sites available, the campground can accommodate those camping with an RV or tent. It divides into three camping areas, each featuring a bathhouse, playgrounds, picnic tables and grills, and water and electric hook-ups. Each site can contain only one camping unit, whether a camper, RV, pop-up, or otherwise. However, you may use up to three tents on one site.
There is a limit of eight people camping per site. You must pay for all sites in advance at the ranger station upon entering the campground. The campground allows a limit of two weeks for camping, and you can make reservations in advance. Those longing for a more rustic experience can utilize the park’s three back-country campsites. All back-country campers must register and purchase a permit before camping.
Most camping expeditions include an evening spent in front of a roaring camp fire. Fall Creek Falls State Park encourages this time honored tradition and offers firewood for sale at the campground. While you may collect dead wood found around the campsite, you must absolutely not cut wood from a live tree.
Campers must remember never to bring in wood from outside the park because it can introduce deadly pests and diseases to the park’s native trees. Outside wood can disrupt the delicate ecological balance and endanger the vast stretches of wooded areas that house various wildlife species and native plants. Families will not be disappointed if camping is part of their experience at Fall Creek Falls State Park! With all the amenities one could ask for in a campground, everyone can enjoy the beauty and majesty of one of the Southeast’s most prominent and popular vacation destinations.
The park provides well-maintained campsites equipped with modern facilities such as electric hookups, water access, and clean shower areas, making it perfect for both seasoned campers and those new to the experience. Firewood is available on-site to ensure that all campfires are safe and sustainable, contributing to the preservation of the park’s natural resources. Each campsite also offers ample space and privacy, set against the backdrop of the park’s stunning natural scenery, providing a perfect setting for families to unwind and create lasting memories together. Whether it’s roasting marshmallows under the starlit sky or waking up to the serene sounds of nature, camping at Fall Creek Falls State Park offers a unique way to connect with the outdoors and enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
