Burgess Falls is located on the Falling Water River, which also creates Fall Creek Falls, the largest waterfall in the state. Visitors can easily access the 132-foot fall from one of two foot trails in the park: the 1.5-mile Scenic Loop or the 1-mile Ridge Top Trail. A metal staircase, just a short walk from the main trail, allows hikers to climb to the bottom of the fall. Note that the descent includes slippery rocks, home to snakes, and the hike back is strenuous. Along the paths, you’ll find four other falls ranging from twenty to eighty feet.
