BETTY DUNN NATURE CENTER

Falls Creek Falls Park is a topographical patchwork of heavily forested craggy outcrops of craggy Cumberland Plateau sewn with rivers, creeks and waterfalls that an abundance of wildlife call home.

With so much bountiful beauty to enjoy at the Falls Creek Falls Park it’s useful to have a helping hand in making the most of your visit to the area. Handily located at the intersection of the trails that lead to the park’s key attractions the Betty Dunn Nature Center provides visitors the perfect first stop for Falls Creek Falls.

Named for a former First Lady of Tennessee, the Falls Creek Falls Nature Center is an excellent visitors’ experience. It presents the history, geology, ecology and the flora and fauna of the park with movies and demonstrations in either the interpretive centre or the theatre which boasts a roof that’s a worthy exhibit in itself.

The gift shop as well as selling souvenirs and some basic kit such as walking sticks, is also a source of useful information. The proceeds go to the Friends of Falls Creek Falls who run the shop and are always on hand to answer visitors’ questions about any of the attractions, what trails are suitable for what level of fitness and to book any program or activity you might be interested in. You can’t but help be enthused by the love the Friends have for Falls Creek Falls Park.
